Edwards, Colorado

BJ is much better. Even though she is coughing quite a bit she is getting more sleep and is eating. We washed some of our dirty clothes and repacked some of our gear.

BJ has improved even more so we decided to take BJ with us to Montana so we could keep an eye on her while we do the northern part of our trip. We will leave Edwards tomorrow so we put our motorcycles on the trailer and loaded the Escalade. The Munson’s arrive at our home for a weekend visit with their children around 8 pm.

Edwards, Colorado to Jackson, Wyoming

We departed Edwards at 10 am after saying goodbye to our guests. During our 490 mile drive we had to stop several times to readjust the tie down straps holding the motorcycles in place on the trailer. We stopped for lunch in Steamboat Springs and then continued our trip north. We stopped for the night in Jackson, Wyoming. There were a large number of Victory motorcycles in the parking lot of our motel. We found out there was a national Victory rally in Jackson this weekend.

We left Jackson around 9 am and drove north through Teton and Yellowstone national Park. The Teton Mountains were breathtaking and we stopped several times to take in the incredible views. Yellowstone was very crowded. We stopped at Old Faithful but arrived just after the plume of stream and water had stopped. We decided to keep driving rather than wait another hour to see the next eruption. We stopped in West Yellowstone, Montana for what turned out to be a terrible lunch at a local brew pub.

We finally left the National Parks behind and drove through some beautiful and varied Montana scenery. Flathead Lake was huge. We finally arrived in Whitefish around 10 pm after logging 557 miles in the Escalade.
