Features

Thin-and-light: The Acer Aspire 4315-2490 is a thin-and-light laptop, under six pounds and built to travel. It burns CDs, plays DVDs, features an ExpressCard/54 slot and is equipped with Windows Vista Home Basic.

Intel Celeron M processor: This laptop features the 1.73GHz Celeron M 530 processor. The Celeron M features standard 32-bit processing, and delivers exceptional value and reliability for basic computing needs. Intel Centrino technology enhances mobile performance and extends battery life.

This laptop features 1GB of DDR2 system memory—enough for all but the most demanding users, gamers and multimedia professionals. DDR2 is slightly faster than DDR, the previous standard in system memory.

Data travels to the processor along the frontside bus. The faster data travels, the faster everything works. This laptop features a 533MHz frontside bus.

Processors search for the same data over and over. L2 caches keep this data neat, organized, and nearby so it can be retrieved more quickly. This 1MB cache gives the processor a little boost.

Hard drive: This hard drive features an 80GB capacity—plenty of space for the average user. This drive’s data disks spin at 5400rpm. The faster they spin, the faster the data is read and written.

Go wireless: Built-in 802.11g wireless LAN gives you a fast connection to a wide range of networks and peripherals. 802.11g is backwards-compatible with 802.11b, so you can connect using the two most popular wireless standards.

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic: Vista Home Basic is the operating system for homes with basic computing needs. It’s easy to set up, secure, reliable and compatible with the widest range of software, devices, and services. If you simply want to surf the Internet, correspond with friends or create basic documents, this will be perfect for you.

Combo drive: Use the DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive to play DVDs or burn CDs to share your files, music mixes, photos and more.

Widescreen display: This laptop features a bright 14.1" high-definition widescreen display with 1280 x 800 pixel (WXGA) resolution.

Audio/video: This laptop features Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and 358MB of shared video memory, which is drawn from the main system memory. This video memory is perfect for everyday activities like casual movie watching or gaming. The two built-in 3DSonic stereo speakers give your multimedia some extra kick.

ExpressCard/54 slot: This laptop supports ExpressCard, an emerging standard in smaller, faster PC card solutions. This slot is compatible with ExpressCard/54 as well as ExpressCard/34—use it to add memory, graphics upgrades, security devices and more.
