2026 - Camping at Flaming Gorge and Seminoe

We stayed at Antelope Flat campground in Flaming Gorge. While Flaming Gorge itself is very pretty, the Antelope Flat campground is one of the worst we have ever stayed at. Despite being lake-side, it was about a 15 minute hike down to the water through brush and cactus. There was no path. The water was basically inaccessible from campers. There was no other amenities like hiking trails or a common beach. There were bathrooms but they were filthy. I think that is a good place to launch your boat and spend a day on the water, but there is no reason to actually camp there.

We spent one night at Antelope Flat before leaving and spending the rest of our time at Seminoe State Park. We had been at Seminoe before and it was long drive from home. But coming from Flaming Gorge, Seminoe was basically on our route home.

The water level at Seminoe was very low, probably down 40 feet since the last time we were there. Despite that, it is very pretty, wide open, with good water access, and plenty of space for activities. We had a blast there.
