One day the sound simply stopped playing out the speakers. The head unit was on and thought it was playing sound. The amp was not turning on. This is the amp that Explorer installed when upfitting the van from an empty shell.

There is a remote turn on wire that provides 12v to a relay on the amp but only when the ignition is on. For whatever reason this wire was no longer supplying 12 volts. I don't know if the wire got split. I don't actually know where the original wire ran to. It didn't run to the head unit itself. However it worked, it didn't work any more.

I pulled out the head unit and run a wire directly from it to the amp. Problem solved.
