I have accidentally ripped off my license plate twice. Each time equals 1 hour at the DMV. I decided to avoid this in the future by installing a metal support behind the plate. That should make it much harder to rip off the plate.

That support plate came in a kit designed to allow you to mount your plate off your rear wheel axle. It included a brake light and the axle braket. I decided to use the brake light because it was larger than my other one and bigger is better for improve visibility since I drive this thing on-road often.
