I still can't get the bike over 63 mph. It pull hard enough but just seems to break up at 63, like the ignition is not firing. The bike should be able to do about 75 mph or so. It used to do go that fast when I first got it. Something has worn out.
Years ago I bought a used ignition coil on ebay to see if that would fix it. It was another 40+ year old unit. That didn't fix it. So the other day I finally tried some back to back tests, my original coil vs the new old one. Neither made a difference. I tested one of the coils and found that the resistence (primary I think you call it) was too low. I went ahead and bought a brand new aftermarket coil. I couldn't be any worse.
The new coil resistence tests just fine, but unfortunately it didn't fix the top speed issue.
