The machine shop took forever to get all the work done. It was 6 months before I had everything back.Working with them was painful because they don't have a website, don't respond to emails, only answer their phone about 25% of the time, don't respond to voice mails, are closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and are located far away. This combined to make them a pain in the ass.
They seem to do good work. But it takes forever. They missed marking the aligment point on the flywheel and crankshaft after balancing which caused me to have to take another trip down there during working hours to get that fixed.
Other than that, there was some work on the head that I did not explicitly ask them to perform because I didn't know it was needed. They did not do that work nor did they suggest I do it. This is dissapointing to me. I am just the middle man between MSS who is supplying the parts and the machine shop who is doing the work. I told the machine shop I trust their judgement and to let me know if something outside my list needs to be done. No such luck. The result was that I took the heads to another shop for the additional work rather than going back to Ridge Reamer and having to wait for months longer.
Ultimately here is a list of the things they did as best I know:
