Nikki and I decided we needed the ability to lock up our mail. Since we were already planning on replacing the mailbox with a locking unit, we decided to replace the mailbox post also. It had clearly seen better days. The only problem was neither of us wanted the plastic posts sold and Home Depot and Lowes, and neither of us could afford anything nicer than that.
